I bought a new 2010 Volvo XC60 and was looking forward to many years with this car. I took it for regular maintenance at a volvo dealer and took very good care of it. it was fine while under warranty for 4 years/ 50, 000. The past year I have have had to spend over $6000 for repairs - rear differential broke, drive belt, power steering broke, brakes, electrics - it is as if the Volvo engineers designed it so that every major system would break as soon as the car was out of warranty. I am disgusted! It only has 60,000 miles on it and has been lovingly cared for and it has turned into an unreliable lemon! I will never buy a Volvo again. I do not recommend this care. unless you have a lot of spare time and money to waste.
The C70 has been everything I expected. It is comfortable and fun to drive. It handles well and in the limited time I have owned this car I do not regret choosing it over a hard top convertible like the BMW or Lexus. I drove all three makes before making my purchase. Limited trunk space with the top down but this is true for all similar makes. The C70 does have more rear seat room than the others. Thus far no complaints. Although it suggests a higher octane fuel it does well on regular. The computer appears to adjust well and there is no nocking. Looking forward to better weather so I can have the top down more often. Quiet ride with top up and not too much noise with top down.
I've always liked the new Volvo style, but the new S60 in 2012 came out blazing. I had the premium design, all leather interior with, at the time, first auto-stop and accident prevention feature that was standard on all Volvos. That alone made the car 3X safer than other similar cars in the price range. The handling was always so smooth, love the turning radius, there wasn't any noise or crackling like in cheaper brands. I love that the interior surfaces were all soft, not cheap hard plastic, it makes a huge difference when you get into and out of the car banding, hands or feet by accident. It felt like the quality was all around me. I loved the connectivity to my iPhone, was always so seamless, and the trunk with folding seats was A+.
