After years of driving Volvo sedans I looked for something sportier in the Volvo family in my price range. I chose the C30 T5, the C70 coupe was my next choice. It came with 18" wheels and low miles and was in good shape. The sacrifice is size and storage. But for a daily commuter and the occasional road trip it is perfect if you don't need a lot of space. From my research on maintenance it is relatively inexpensive compared to higher end hatch coupes. The interior finish is pretty basic but ergonomically it is very comfortable. It's kind of low so getting in and out took some getting used to. Overall, I like the unique styling, handling and value for a car in this category.
I used to be one of of these guys that made fun of the volvo line of vehicles without ever giving it a chance. I can now say that I may have found the car company to stick with for life. The comfort it's unmatched by cars even higher in price range. The performance of the car it's pretty good with the 6 speed manual transmission. It handles any turn I've thrown it into with ease. The only knock on the volvo c30 is that the back end takes getting used to. It's actually kinda ugly, but for whatever reason I actually like it know. The other downside to the back hatch window coming down usa that it's really easy to see into, but window tint can fix that. Thats really my only complaint about the car. I love the uniqueness of its design. I've also has this car for over two months and haven't seen another one yet.
This car gets a lot of looks. It's polarizing, you either love it or hate it. I can spot it anywhere, color is different, body style is different. That's why I like it. It's basically a redo of a classic Volvo 1800es.
