Fast Fun and Safe

This car is a perfect mix of fun, safe and also very reliable too. I have the 2012 Volvo C30R Design model. After a year I have nothing but good things to say. The warranty is the best and includes all maintenance but the car is a lot of fun to drive, period! Test one and see for yourself!

2011 R-Design --Love it!

Bought this car for my wife with 15K miles on it. Now have 36K and some thoughts. First, we both really like this car. Great seats, styling, performance. We did initially have trouble with water in the rear floor which I determined to be coming from the sunroof drains (tubes in A-pillars too short. I corrected myself after reading very helpful info online in a couple volvo forums. I see that tire wear is going to be an issue and maintaining correct pressure, alignment and doing rotations every 5K miles is very important. The tires on our car looked new at 15K and now at 36K are about done but I think I only rotated them twice and they were also not highly rated tires. Thinking about some Continentals, Goodyears or Yokahamas next. (R-Designs use 18" low profile tires and high quality tires are not cheap.) I will be watching the next set of tires closely as tire wear is about the only common complaint I hear about these cars. As of now, we're still loving this car its unique styling and quality construction. I almost forgot to mention, my wife test drove a regular T5 and when she got into the R-Design we weren't even out of the parking lot before she commented on liking the feel of it much better.

Fun car, but not an S60R

To be fair, I am coming from a Volvo S60R, which was a great car with all the bells and whistles. The C30 is a lot of fun to drive. The throttle and steering is very responsive. The ride is however rather noisy. The tires have already been replaced due to obnoxious tire noise (I guess the previous owner did not have the tires rotated regularly). There is also a lot of noise during suspension travel that sounds a lot like strut bearing noise. The stereo is good and I appreciate the ipod interface and its ease of use. The styling on the R-design is aesthetically pleasing. I like the interior but I am unsure how to clean the synthetic material. The trunk is obviously much smaller than my S60, and I miss having AWD. The model I bought does not have a sunroof and I regret that. Overall I do enjoy the car. For the price it is a fun and stylish vehicle.
