If you enjoy driving, the R-Design is a different car than the regular C30. Great power (225hp), tight steering, firm suspension, quality can be felt and wind noise is almost nonexistent. I would recommend this car for the enthusiast but it's not a convenient family car because rear seat access is not something you want to deal with regularly. Rear tires wear quickly but if your alignment shop is really good, rear settings can be altered slightly to help with that. Factory brake pads are good but dust the rear wheels heavily and I am happier with EBC Red pads on back and will probably go to them on front also. Water in floor (frt or rear) could be sunroof drains in A pillars (short tube or plugged @ firewall) search youtube or Volvo forums.
This car has great handling, has pretty good gas mileage (between 26 - 30 mpg) and is a real pleasure to drive. I have a 6-speed manual transmission that has plenty of pep and power. The rear seats fold down flat so you can put larger items in the car, though it looks small upon initial inspection. I would not recommend this car if you have small children, because it is a 2-door, and getting car seats, children,, etc., in and out would be painful. It is a solid performer, and I am really glad I bought it!
I just purchased a 2011 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design about a week ago and I love this car. I traded in my SUV which I also loved, but because was tired of driving around in a vehicle that required premium gas and I averaged 17 miles to the gallon I was ready for a change. I researched this vehicle and once I stumbled upon one I purchased it. This car is unique on the inside and out, I feel very safe in it even though it is smaller than my previous vehicle, it is definetly a head turner because they are so rare. You will not be disappointed!
