Not saving a whole lot on gas. Getting only about 22.5 per gallon. Expecting around 28-29 per gal as advertised. even if you do your own maintainence, Chou can't reset the computer that reads, maintanence overdue, which is a little bothersome. Not a whole lot of room, passengers must navigate out of the backseat like they are going through some sort of obstacle course having to get passed the narrow opening which the seatbelt is in the way so it's easy to get tangled up. Other wise, great power, easy to maneuver and park. Engine noise is loud and you can feel every little bump. The car sits so low that it makes the ordinary driveway seem like a steep mountain that if not handled correctly, the front end scrapes.
This car was a real surprise to me. It was a blast to drive and is covered by a terrific warranty with full maintenance for 5 years. I have the R design with the Polestar option. It is very easy to shift gears and handles well. It has a solid feeling and is fast. Basically, other then being a smaller car, it's great. Probably not the best car for families with children, due to it's size. However it's sporty and safe. Test one. You'll love it!
If you enjoy driving, the R-Design is a different car than the regular C30. Great power (225hp), tight steering, firm suspension, quality can be felt and wind noise is almost nonexistent. I would recommend this car for the enthusiast but it's not a convenient family car because rear seat access is not something you want to deal with regularly. Rear tires wear quickly but if your alignment shop is really good, rear settings can be altered slightly to help with that. Factory brake pads are good but dust the rear wheels heavily and I am happier with EBC Red pads on back and will probably go to them on front also. Water in floor (frt or rear) could be sunroof drains in A pillars (short tube or plugged @ firewall) search youtube or Volvo forums.
