Sweet as Sugar!

I LOVE THIS CAR!!! I named her Sugar because she'll take me to the sugar white sands of the Gulf Coast and she is a sweet ride! I wanted elegant and sophisticated but not overpriced & pretentious, so that's why I looked at Volvo. I have wanted a convertible since I was 20, but couldn't justify it with kids and a teacher's salary. At my age, I refused to get stereotypical "mid-life crisis" little red sports car and my Sugar is PERFECT! She drives like a dream whether the top is up or down. Putting the top down fascinates everyone, young and old alike. Men discuss the smooth procedure, women sigh over the ease, and kids call it "the Transformers car." Some reviews complained that the handling was slow, but they must have spaghetti for brains, because mine is as smooth as butter. You've got to drive it yourself to truly appreciate this car!

A California Car

Smooth, safe ride with more than adequate power for most situations. Looks and handles like what it is, a 2008 era high end sedan. The main reason to buy this car however is, of course the retractable hardtop. It's an elegant piece of Swedish engineering that lets you convert (in 30 seconds flat) from a quiet respectable sedan to a fun machine. And they've even figured out how to still give you some trunk room with the top stowed. Lovely. If you're wondering if the hardtop's mechanical ballet is covered by CarMax extended warranty, the answer seems to be: mostly. The top itself is considered a "body panel" and thus not covered; however the plethora of linkages, gears, motors, pistons, etc. that make it work are indeed covered -- or so I was told after long conversations with the insurance carrier. I'm hoping I never have to find out. One knock: the electronics wiring are Volvo unique, so don't plan on adding aftermarket parts like bluetooth data or nav; it's either not available or ridiculously expensive. Overall however, a great car for the money.

Great convertable

Love my car, looks like an average two door coupe with the top up, press the button and watch it transform into a sharp, classly convertible. More room in trunk, even with top down than I would have thought and even more room in back seat even though I wasn't expecting to use rear seat at all. 5 cylinder engine delivers good power, mooth ride and getting close to 30 miles per gallon. Delighted with car.
