Reviews for 2008 Volvo C70
Volvo C70 Convert.
LOVE my new convertable and how beautiful of a car it is. I feel safe while driving it, and it is very comfortable. It does drive "heavy" compared to other cars it's size, and the gas mileage for day to day driving settles in at 20-21mpg consistently. There are also a few luxuries missing (bluetooth, mp3, etc), but still worth the cost for the type of car that it is.
The C70 is fun to drive and reliable. I love the styling and feel of the car. The ride is great, the automatic transmission shifts smoothly and engine noise is minimal. The upgraded stereo system is phenomenal.
A California Car
Smooth, safe ride with more than adequate power for most situations. Looks and handles like what it is, a 2008 era high end sedan. The main reason to buy this car however is, of course the retractable hardtop. It's an elegant piece of Swedish engineering that lets you convert (in 30 seconds flat) from a quiet respectable sedan to a fun machine. And they've even figured out how to still give you some trunk room with the top stowed. Lovely. If you're wondering if the hardtop's mechanical ballet is covered by CarMax extended warranty, the answer seems to be: mostly. The top itself is considered a "body panel" and thus not covered; however the plethora of linkages, gears, motors, pistons, etc. that make it work are indeed covered -- or so I was told after long conversations with the insurance carrier. I'm hoping I never have to find out. One knock: the electronics wiring are Volvo unique, so don't plan on adding aftermarket parts like bluetooth data or nav; it's either not available or ridiculously expensive. Overall however, a great car for the money.
