Customer Review Summary for Volvo S40
2010 Volvo S40luvmyvolvo! - Ches. VA12/02/2012
I am totally satisfied with my purchase of 2010 Volvo S40. This car handles amazingly smooth. Volvo's are known for reliability and value, the S40 is no exception.
Great investment at a great price!
2005 Volvo S401st Timer - Richmond, VA08/07/2011
This volvo has great performance for what might be considered a mid-level luxury sedan. My previous vehicle was a sports car so I was looking for something a little sporty, but with more room. While the Volvo does not have the raw power (5 cylinders vs. 8 cylinders) that my previous car had, it is surprisingly quick. It handles well and the turbo allows for very fast acceleration. The interior is very comfortable for all passengers. The trunk space is fairly limited, but that is to be expected in a relatively small vehicle. My one major concern is that I have had some problems with the ignition. Every now and again, if the car has not been started fairly recently, it will not start on the first try. On the second try it starts up fine, but it is slightly disconcerting. Overall, this is a good car, and a good value.
It's been good to me overall, despite what others warned me about previously. Everyone told me that it would be expensive to own a Volvo and that I'd experience problems. My experience has not borne that out at all. The only expenses I've had have been routine maintenance (brakes, a headlight, new belt at 120K, etc). The styling is super cute and expensive looking. I get asked all the time about my "expensive" Volvo. So, it's definitely been worth it for the professional image that I like to project. :-) The car is small which makes it easy to get around town in, and easy to park.
Nothing compares to the feeling of the wind whipping your hair back as you cruise in a well-built convertible. Well, almost nothing—the feeling of getting a great deal on your vehicle purchase is definitely a close second. You can enjoy both of these awesome sensations at the same time by selecting a high-quality convertible that sells for less than $20,000.
Luxury cars come in all shapes and sizes, but they are all expected to look good and perform well. One advantage of buying a used luxury car is that you get the luxury look-and-feel that you want at a more affordable price.

Henry Ford once famously told customers that his Model T came in any color they wanted, so long as that color was black. That was over 100 years ago. Today, the vehicles available to us come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, with a profusion of available options and features. Whether you're shopping for a quality used vehicle, or you want to take the plunge with a new car, 2017 is a great time to see what's available.
