volvo xc90

2006 Volvo XC90 not the twilight volvo - Northbrook, Il 04/25/2011

I needed a car that was not a minivan, that could passenger 6+driver, had leather seats, heated seats, awd or 4wd, sunroof. That only leaves about 8 possible solutions. The Volvo was my favorite, and it is possible to get 8 or 6 cyl. Mine is 6, plenty of power less gas guzzling. Car does have a few quirks that I was not familiar with, for example battery is located in the rear cargo area and if you ever need to get to it you need permission from Volvo, JK, but you will need a metric nut driver, also when I finally located the battery I found mouse dropping. According to the Internet, not saying its true, but this is a common problem with this car. Have not seen current evidence of mice, so I'm thinking it was from the trip across the pond on a ship. Otherwise, awesome car that I hope to drive for a really long time.

I am loving my XC90

2005 Volvo XC90 nightnurse - TX 08/25/2009

After driving a minivan for the past 10 years, I was DONE!!! I needed something that could seat my famiily of 5 comfortably and have room for carpool - so still needed that 7 passenger capability! We looked at the Toyota Highlander, the Honda Pilot, the GMC Acadia and the Nissan Pathfinder... after all that we drove off in the Volvo XC90 - we got a much better deal (we bought used) than the Pathfinder (which was originally our number one pick) - we drove it on a 12 hour trip with 4 kids and LOTS of cargo right after purchasing it - and while it was a space adjustment from the minivan- the kids were all comfortable (except no armrests in the middle row - they were used to captain's chairs). It is extremely quiet on the road. We got pretty good gas mileage on the trip (6 people fully loaded with luggage on the roof as well - averaged 20 mpg) but now with city driving I average only 16 mpg. It is a really nice looking car, with nice features, I love the controls - wish the clock was on the radio console though - so it could be seen by people other than driver! There is a lack of storage space in the front (can't fit things under the front seats like a first aid kit etc). I like the safety features and I am sure since 2005 there have been many upgrades. The seats adjust fairly easy, but could slide forward better for easier access to the third row for kids... Overall, I love my Volvo - hoping I don't regret NOT getting the Pathfinder.

Great Car at a good price

2013 Volvo XC90 Anand Padmanabhan - Fort Mill, SC 01/22/2017

Great car for long drives, nice handling, lots of luggage space, good visibility.
