This is an excellent vehicle. The gas milage is good compared to most SUVs this size. It has alot of comfort features and a smooth ride. The third row seat is not for lengthy rides for adults, but is great for children four feet and under. It is a fantastic family vehicle and very reliable.
despite the initial problem of a dying battery (don't know why the CQI didn't catch that) - this vehicle is everything I'd hoped for in replacing my SUV. You definitely want to look over the options VERY carefully - you'll likely only be happy with the T6 model for performance and style (if you want style). the 6 cyl. with turbo is essential if you're looking for substantial power - I do enough home improvements that the power and fold down rear seats come in handy. If you do A LOT of utility work, you probably don't want the XC90, it's too nice. 3rd row seating is essential if you want more than 5 people to travel, but even then, 3rd row isn't too comfortable, but it's there if you need it. Rear parking assitans is great since this vehicle is very safe, even though it gives up a little visibility in the back. You won't find a safer SUV with this much style. Heated leather seats, power everything, all wheel drive, on board computers that keep your wheels on the road, are all worth the expense. Mine was still under warranty, and optional extended is a good idea, but get it from the dealer- they keep great records on your vehicle. Keep an eye on price, options, miles and time left on warranty- look for the best price with the most options- I found most XC 90's were priced similarly despite having big differences in the aforementioned- get everything you can! Drives like a luxury car, convenient like an SUV, safe as a tank - looks great. Getting 19 MPG highway - if I didn't live close to work, might not be worth city mileage, something for you to consider. I love it, probably have one of these from now on. Best regards!
In this price bracket, the XC90 packs a lot of features. The pilot assist is most impactful as it will self-drive up to 80mph which is a god-send during traffic. It's a great looking SUV, the interior is quite luxurious, very roomy and looks gorgeous as I get a lot of compliments from passengers. The air suspension and B/W sound system are practical must-haves. The engine power is adequate and mpg is as expected from a modern SUV. Cons would be road noise abatement can be better and the Sensus system can be a bit slow but at least Volvo provides software and maps updates. Overall, after a 2600 mile road trip, it's quite the trooper and shuttled my family in a lot of comfort and safety
