great gas mileage
Power
power with superior handling
Reliability
had several issues and all handled within the first 2 months at no cost to me.
Ride and Handling
this is my first BMW, and it does not disappoint. for being a smaller, more compact car, you can throw it into a turn at just about any speed and it soaks it right up without faulting. the ride is amazing and so much more composed and quiet than most other cars.
Power
this cat gets up and goes! the 255 HP makes the car feel quick on its feet and blows many others cars on the road out of the water. never lacking for power especially if you drive in an area with many hills. the torque from the turbo makes it effortless to climb the San Francisco hills.
Fuel Economy
when driving long distances, I often beat the 36 MPG EPA rating and find myself reaching into the 40MPG range. city MPG is okay, but I think that’s more about the way I drive than the cars fault.
Cost to Maintain
after visiting a service center for the first time, I was quoted just over $1k USD for the scheduled maintenance at 33,000 miles. I.E. (spark plugs, oil change & tire rotation, micro cabin air filter). very high. most of that cost is labor by the BMW dealer.
Seat Comfort
for a larger body type such as mine, (6,3 250 lbs) this car fits me well, but I have issues with the leg bolsters. they are Incredibly tight, and a constant reminder for me to lose weight.
Reliability
when I first got the car, I had an $1,800 dollar repair that could be made by BMW dealer only for the SOS system hardware of the car. nothing that rendered the car immobile or anything, but kind of insane considering that the car is only 5 years old and at the time less than 30,000 miles.
Ride and Handling
Handles exceptionally well. Shifting is a breeze (mine is a manual).
Technology and Entertainment
The entertainment system is really clunky and difficult to use.
Fuel Economy
Great fuel mileage not compromising the power
Value
For what you get for the price
Cabin Noise
Cabin Noise
It’s relatively quiet inside however the runflat tires are noisy if you put a conventional tire on there I think it would be a lot quieter
Technology and Entertainment
Although they are designed with simplicity in mind, BMW has built-in technology second to none.
Reliability
I have owned BMWs for over twenty years and have never experienced any major issues.
Cargo Space
The 4 series is not designed to be a family vehicle. The rear seats are not as comfortable as the 5 or 7 series or any of the SUVs.
Styling
Nice sleek look
Reliability
This car was sold to me with the notion of going through a "full and thorough inspection." I had to take time out of my day to get the brakes and rotors replaced, which thankfully, was done within the 30 days of purchase.
Cost to Maintain
This car is now at the BMW dealership for a massive coolant leak. The plastic housings are being replaced on the engine block to prevent it from leaking. Also, the yellow caps on the crankshaft hub are leaking and needs to be replaced.
