Power
standard 523hp. I have tried it in sport and it’s borderline terrifying (for me). I considered the M8 but that’s too much power. 523 is even too much but acceleration is powerful. and within such a solidly built machine is perfection at its finest.
Braking
once you hit that powerful acceleration, braking is on point. brake assist helps slow the car down so you’re not flying forward. it’s smooth and you feel comfortable knowing the brakes can handle all that power. no doubt.
Ride and Handling
xDrive gives you a sense of fearless cornering and knowledge that a bit of rain or snow won’t send you into an alternate universe when you’re just trying to make it home. I recall driving home a couple of winters ago from the office and it was starting to snow. sticking badly by my house. my 650i convertible was not a car to be driving in that weather. rear wheel drive had me sliding all over and cars were backing off knowing one move could fling me into their car. even though I don’t drive in any snow or ice, if it happened again, I know I feel way more confident in the xDrive.
Cost to Maintain
not really a con. if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. I will say this: BMW stands behind their work and products. always ALWAYS get OEM. If you go to a place to get work done that isn’t a BMW dealership, demand OEM because the warranty is outstanding. it costs more but well worth it.
