Cargo Space
I require a wheelchair and oxygen and sometimes other medical supplies. We love our explorer for many reasons but cargo space sold us on it in the 1st place.
Seat Comfort
The older I get, the shorter I seem to get too. I have a bad left hip -- it's missing 60% of the ball. I'm also morbidly obese and my back was also broken in 13 places, plus my tail one was messed up. The explorer has a strong O.S. handle to hold onto when climbing in and out. And the seat allows for my big size and is the most comfortable seat we could find when we bought our 2015 in 2017. Also, we wanted an suv but many of them sit too high for me to climb into. The explorer allows me to back to the seat and slide in.
Reliability
We have only had our explorer in the shop 1 time in 8 years and that was for an a/c compressor replacement.
Interior Space
After 8 years of owning our 2015 explorer, we wish it had dual air controls. My husband does dialysis 3x a week and gets cold all the way through, so we wish we had the warm driver seat option. We also wish we had remote start so it would warm up or cool off before we left the house.
Styling
Oh! Our biggest complaint... ours is silver. It was the best vehicle for the price but we HATE that they are all in silver, black or white, with a rare red. Ford really needs to check out the gamut of colors on the Sherwin Williams wall and pick some other colors for their production line. Seriously, all the auto makers need to offer other colors, different shades of green and blue, yellows maybe. Anything but those first 3 colors. We've had 6 silver vehicles in a row because we always buy the vehicle with the best mileage and overall value for the money
Technology and Entertainment
We pay for Sirius in our explorer. It's hard to go without it once you've had it. It should be standard and free in all vehicles.

Ride and Handling
I've had seven Explorers. This is the smoothest transmission yet. Great power. Lots of compliments on the slate blue color.
Value
Spending a little more would have made this auto perfect. It needs auto dim rear view mirror, folding side mirrors, and electric steering column. Floor mats are cheap quality!!!!!

It is a comfortable car, easy to handle. Just feels right for me.
