Interior Space
It's somewhat small and I love it! If you want lots of space in your vehicle, this is not the car for you. It suits me quite nicely.
Fuel Economy
I feel like the car burns gas very quickly. It could just be me. It might burn gas just like my previous car.
Ride and Handling
1) The steering wheel has a lot of buttons on them which can be distracting for me if I accidentally press a button. 2) When you put the car in reverse, there is a camera there. I don't utilize that feature. That is also a distraction for me. I just make sure to look both ways continuously to make sure I'm in the clear.

It's not really a con, it just drinks fuel faster than you'd expect a 4 cylinder to.
Cost to Maintain
The Ford Focus RS comes with the performance parts and, for example, Brembo brakes cost alot when they need servicing.

Cargo Space
My specific vehicle is a hatchback. Previously I owned a 2006 Focus. One of the first things I noted was that my back seats folded flat with ease. This provided a fairly large amount of trunk space. Adequate enough to fit 2 people comfortably if laying down. It surprised me a bit how much the trunk of this vehicle was capable of holding as well, compared to my previous Focus.
Braking
As with most more modern Ford cars, the stronger braking capabilities have saved me from t-boning clueless drivers more than once since owning this car. The brakes are gentle but still strong enough to halt the car at a moments notice.
Reliability
I have noticed these cars are quite versatile in different environments. They cope quite well in heavy rain and snow, granted the driver is alert and driving with care. Very rarely is it required of me to take my car for repairs aside from basic maintenance. No broken gauges, parts or otherwise as far as I have owned it. My previous Focus had a transmission that nearly outlasted the car itself. I am hoping for that reliability in this vehicle as well, though I am highly aware of the potential for transmission issues in these newer Ford Focuses.
Cabin Noise
HVAC system is VERY loud. When maxed out, almost sounds like a hand dryer. There is also a flaw in which when setting the air to top/bottom vents, the airflow becomes very weak even when set to the highest fan setting. This vehicle also very much picks up on most road noises. While it is certainly preference of the driver, you can also hear the engine quite loudly from inside the cabin. I don’t mind it at all, but it is certainly something to keep in mind.
Dashboard
Despite the car being called a “Focus”, it is without a doubt very difficult to focus on the various innumerable amount of buttons and options set on the dash. Unless you are familiar with the car right from the get go, you should expect to take some time to learn these controls before driving, as they can become a distraction to unfamiliar drivers.
Power
This car (2017 SE Hatchback) offers roughly about 140hp. This is by no means a powerful car, but it is more on the peppy side. You can definitely expect to accelerate, just not quickly. Don’t even try to pass that Camaro on your way to work, it won’t be in your favor. This car is most adequate for small families or for single person owners just looking for a reliable vehicle.
