Everything you need in a sportscar. 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata

            Pros

            • Cost to Maintain

Small car equals small costs. Tires are affordable. It gets decent mileage. Sparkplugs, brake rotors and other upkeep items will be inexpensive to replace.

            • Power

It is sub 200hp 4 cylinder, but with a close ratio 6 speed, given it's light weight the car moves pretty well. I'd say it has slightly above average acceleration, when combined with it's other sporty qualities, it makes for a well balanced, fun to drive car.

            • Ride and Handling

The handling is great, it is softly sprung, which make the ride pretty smooth and the body roll around a bit, but the suspension is well designed, so the car is really balanced even with so much suspension movement.

            Cons

            • Cabin Noise

It is a bit noisy. Mine is a hardtop, yet road and wind noise makes it into the cabin. It is livable, but could be better.

            • Cargo Space

Ummm, yeah it is tight. Some people can't drive it, some people have a hard time being a passenger even. It also has a tiny trunk. You need to want to have a small car to love a car like this.

            • Technology and Entertainment

The stock head unit is pretty lacking. It fit the aesthetics really well, but its technology has aged poorly. It has bluetooth for phone calls only. I swapped to an after market Android based system.

great car. this is my 5th miata. 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Great Value and The Last True Roadster 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata

            Pros

            • Ride and Handling

Sharp and sporty handling while also soft enough to handle rough roads.

            • Fuel Economy

I can get around 25-27 in city driving and 33 on the highway. One road trip using state highways allowed me to achieve 40.8mpg over 3.5hours of driving.

            • Styling

Offers exceptional and mature looks reflecting a cross between old British sports cars and modern styling. Much less cutesy looking than previous generations.

            Cons

            • Seat Comfort

After long drives, the seating can get quite uncomfortable. Recommend tilting seat back but that also requires the seat to be moved forward.

            • Cabin Noise

Cabin noise at highway speeds. It's a soft top at the end of the day.

            • Interior Space

Trunk space is adequate for its size. Interior cabin space could use some more practicality with the addition of more cubbies or pockets.
