It's a solid car that drives beautifully.

Seems to do really well with our weather. Only made it through part of a winter, but so far, so good.

Safety
Subru's are well known for their reliability snd safety, and that is twofold. They rate well on crash tests, but they also are good at avoid crashes altogether, with the AWD and other control features
Weather Versatility
Rain, Snow, Ice. Clear day. The only thing this base model needs is a sunroof to let the sun in.
Reliability
Subaru's are well known for reliability. This one has timing belts that you have to change at 105k, but it was fast and now its good for another 105k with standard care.
Cons
Technology and Entertainment
The base car had the base radio, and it was basically awful. Replaced with Pioneer 4200 and it turns out the speakers were better than I knew, just needed a decent driver.

The issue with the 2.5 is when you need performance it is not there. Not power. We would recommend the upgraded engine.

You have to get used to CVT transmission.
