A great plug-in hybrid SUV 2023 Toyota RAV4 Prime Plug-In

Pros

  • Fuel Economy

The EPA estimated EV range of 42 miles means I can do my daily commute on all electric, and only buying about half a tank of gasoline each month. With charging overnight, the savings are significant.

  • Power

Having both internal combustion and electric motors gives a surprising amount of power, and it's got more pickup than expected, even in ECO mode

  • Cargo Space

Good cargo space for a small SUV, and the back seats fold down for when you need more room.

Cons

  • Value

As a PHEV, the up front cost is higher; if you keep it and use EV mode you'll eventually make up the difference, but if you want to change cars every few years, a regular hybrid makes more sense.

Better than expected 2023 Toyota RAV4 Prime Plug-In

Pros

  • Fuel Economy

Almost every day, I drive less than the electric-only range, so it's like having an electric vehicle, except when I want to go on a longer trip, I don't have to worry about finding a charge station!

  • Interior Space

    Plenty of room for 5.

  • Power

Just like most other electric vehicles, it really has a lot of get-up-and-go.

Cons

  • Cabin Noise

When the engine is running, it's a bit loud. Not horrible, but more than one would expect and want from an expensive car.
