Fuel Economy
This is an EA 888 engine, which is one of their best. 6 speed dual-clutch transmission is fun, but it is set to maximize fuel economy, so downshift one gear in the city. I put in 4 Iridium plugs as soon as I got it, and changed the PCV diaphragm, because it had pokey start-up and was burning oil. Man, what a difference! It is an Audi A4 in disguise now. The turbo kicks in nicely when asked, and I get almost 700 highway miles in a tank. Midgrade fuel makes a big difference in performance and driving fun.

Cost to Maintain
For under $24000, it's a fine value in this class. If you are a total cheapskate, you will not like the synthetic oil change interval and cost, tires, midgrade fuel usage and the cost of the parts. For what the Passat R Line delivers in pleasure, it's worth it over a Nissan, KIA or Hyundai sedan.

I have to NAV off my phone, but otherwise, it's fine. The 8-speaker sound system is totally boss. For the price, you can't go wrong with this cruiser.

I have gotten used to the dash by now. It's got knobs for the HVAC and radio, which we all appreciate.

such a smooth rise with all season tires and good traction. has a turbo as well. I love rhe way ny car sounds. and it takes regular gas. :)
