I purchased my 750li a year ago with 28,000 miles and loooovvved this car, it is so fun to drive. The torque is so increadible. I was very happy to be able to own this incredible car. However, in the last year I have had to take it to the shop for engine issues way too many times, all covered under warranty though. recently, without warning, it went into Limp Home mode prior to taking it in for engine issues again (two weeks to fix). It just seems like there are way too many issues for a four year old car with under 40,000 miles. I expected much better reliability from a German car, especially BMW's flagship car.
I could not recommend this car to a friend because of reliability issues.

This is an amazing car and is absolutely beautiful, fun to drive and well put together. You will fall in love with it's instant power. But BEFORE you purchase this car do your homework. BMW is having serious problems with the N63 engine and has just released a massive recall on this car because of the serious mechanical issues that it is having with this engine. Search the web for "BMW N63 engine problems" and read the forums. This appears like it is going to be an ongoing problem with this car. BMW is offering a special discount to owners of this car to trade it in on a new BMW because of the ongoing customer loyalty issues.
If you just HAVE to have this car, do NOT own it without a MaxCare warranty, MaxCare is awesome, and you can take your car directly to the dealer.
Great car,but be prepared.

I've owned three of these cars 07,09 and now the 12. My wife and I loved the way these cars handle and all the others features of the car. We now own the M series X-Drive addition 750li and this can is better than all our previous models. If you own this car and the factory warranty ends, you must buy an extended warranty; this is a must. This car is like any foreign car or any car for that matter, it is going to have issues and can you afford to fix those issues will be the bigger question. We like the 7series, I will not bash any car;people like what they like and will buy what they like. Be thankful you can buy a car and just drive. If you ever test drive this car you may leave with the appreciation of what driving is suppose to be.
