2011 HHR LT

Nice car but for space. There is no where for even the smallest trash container except maybe on the floor in the back. Visibility is poor out the front, why they didn't make the windshield taller is anybody's guess. Being tall, there are many stop lights that I have to lean way down to be able to see. While there are two 12 volt sockets, 1 on dash and 1 at back of the center console, neither is switched, meaning if you have a GPS (Don't we all?) you have to unplug it or hit the On/Off switch every time you turn off the car. To me that is a real pain in the ^%$. Its not like it would have cost more to switch the 12 volt outlets off when the car is shut off. I'm thinking the vast majority would prefer to have them turn off. I'd love to understand Chevy's rational for that one. Let me see, in the time I've owned the HHR I've needed to have the 12 volt outlets remain on... NEVER!!

decent cheap car, but...

it gets great mileage, if driven carefully much better than it is rated. it is fairly quiet, and versatile (wagon with 4 doors, lots of back seat room), and good safety features. But it carries less cargo than it would seem (significantly less useful cargo area than my wife's RAV4; HHR cargo area is long, skinny, and not as tall), and forward visibility is fairly bad (due to a huge onstar mirror and thick A pillars, plus a high belt line and small windshield). It is a good value overall, but the visibility is an issue that is hard to fix. Seats are just ok after awhile. Handling, power, mileage, safety, and versatility are the plusses. Mine has excellent build quality. Decent car for the price.

We've had this vehicle for about 2 months. So far it has been an enjoyable vehicle to drive. It rides good and has good performance. The gas milage of 27mpg (city & highway) we've gotten so far is a plus considering our other vehicle is a 16mpg truck. If there is a down sides it is interior space, but that's because I'm used to a full sized truck. The cup holders are awkward because they are low down between the seats and are a little small. Some containers do not fit.
