2004 Chrysler PacificaFamily Of Five - Chicago, IL10/01/2010
The Pacifica has a great ride, very comfortable seats and a very quiet interior. Conveniently located cup holders, dual temp controls, and center console storage that does not interfere with the arm rests make for a comfortable trip experience, even the kids had no complaints. Rear power receptacle (cigarette lighter style) makes it easy to run electronics from the third row seating. The same is available for the second row as well. Great sounds system allows you to adjust sound volume for each row so you can talk more comfortably up front while backseat passengers listen to music or vice versa.
We have found only two drawbacks with the Pacifica. First is cargo room. The Pacifica seats 6, so with a family of five we have only the room behind the third row seat plus the room from laying the second third row seat down. This is not a lot of room, barely allowing for 5 suitcases and a cooler. I would recommend a model with a roof rack so you can add on a cargo carrier. Second is gas mileage. So far the best we have gotten is 17 highway as opposed to the promised 24.
Pacifica is a GREAT Vehicle!!

I love my Pacifica. It has a low, car like feel, and style, and smooth ride. But it is big and roomy, and able to hitch or haul what you need to. I have carried kids, furniture, trash, wheelchair, boxes, and storage buckets...whatever I needed to. And, it looks so SHARP! The body is very stylish and the interior is so comfortable, and sleek looking.
I do wish the carriage was a bit higher. You have to be slow and careful over traffic speed bumps, because you can easy scrape the bottom. And steep hills that have no slope transition onto the road...turn onto it at an angle to avoid scraping under the front bumper. BUT, even with all that, she is tough! Ive scraped mine so much unintentionally, but she keeps booking.
Engine is sound and got great UMPH! The transmission needs to be well maintained to keep her happy but it's worth it. Just get your fluids changed, keep oil and filters clean, keep transmission fluid fresh, and add additive to your gas. Keep your tires rotated and balanced and she will be a CHAMP for you!
More than expected

The Pacifica is more than I expected. I am getting better gas mileage than I thought I would. The new 4.0 engine has plenty of pick up and rides smooth. We have been on 2 long trips since we purchased the Pacifica and love the comfort. We are not nearly as tired as we have been in the past after these trips. The one thing I would improve on is the cargo space. A little more would be helpful. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. My family loves it.
