This car has all the power as well as all the bells and whistles one would need to be comfortable. It is perfect for a person like me who loves the amenities like GPS, heated seat, etc, but also desire the power to get up and go if needed.
Excellent features, handling and power. I absolutely love this car. The back seat makes it an ideal choice for a father of 3 children who wants sports car performance and looks.
I purchased a 07 model SRT8 in 2009, have put 30k miles on it. I can say that the looks of the car and straight-line performace are awesome. The rumble from the 6.1L is hard to resist, but be prepared for some trips to the gas station if you put your foot to the floor often. There is plenty of leg room in the rear for two adults to sit comfortably. The seat bolsters make a longer trip with 5 people uncomfortable. The trunk is rather large and can carry up to three golf bags or 4 rather large suitecases. The car is rather heavy for a sports sedan. Needless to say the combination of power and weight seem to eat performace tires up in as little as 15k miles. Suspension bushings are known to go bad rather quick, so clunking can be heard from the from fender wells when driving on less than glass-smooth roads. **Note**Most people do not know this, but you have to use 91 or higher octane fuel in the SRT8, which gets expensive depending on where you live.**The brembo brakes, though nice, require deep pockets if you need to replace rotors or pads, so keep that in mind when looking at this car. Just a simple pad replacement can run from $600-800.00 if you have a dealer do the work.**The SRT8 does not come with a proper spare tire. You get a can of Dodge/Chysler fix-o-flat and a small air pump. Anything larger than a staple or nail in your tire requires calling a tow truck...Best to get AAA for a piece of mind. The 08 and newer cars have much better interiors. The fit and finish, though still a plastic wasteland is far superior to the older cars. I have replaced numerous interior trim pieces on my 07 due to rattling and vibrations. Most of the issues are standard issues with most performace cars, just want people to know what they are getting into. Overall a good performing car for the money, but there are better out their......
