It has a lot of power, too. It is especially quite in the cabin. You don't even know it's running.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.63 reviews) For myself, the most important aspects of car ownership are fuel economy, reliability and comfort. Fuel economy is very good and the comfort is excellent. I don't know what the reliability is like yet, but I'm willing to give Ford the benefit of the doubt based on the other two characteristics until I am provided with evidence to the contrary.

Reviews for 2013 Ford C-Max

Overall Rating

4.7 out of 5 (17 reviews)

the C-Max: comfortable and efficient.

For myself, the most important aspects of car ownership are fuel economy, reliability and comfort. Fuel economy is very good and the comfort is excellent. I don't know what the reliability is like yet, but I'm willing to give Ford the benefit of the doubt based on the other two characteristics until I am provided with evidence to the contrary.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: Ford claims 45 mpg in town, 40 mpg on the road. Subtract about 1.5 mpg from both figures to get accurate mpg. Not as good as Ford claims, but very good.
  • Power: The C-Max is very zippy when it comes to acceleration. Much better than the Prius in my opinion. This is needed when driving in the big city.
  • Seat Comfort: Even after driving for many hours, when I get out and walk around I am not stiff or sore. Seat ergonomics are excellent.

Cons

  • Cargo Space: Cargo space is too small. Ford claims more cargo room than in Prius, but this is because depth in the Ford is greater. Actual area is less.
  • Reliability: Reliability is an unknown. It may be good or bad. Either way, I don't have enough miles on the car to be able to adequately evaluate it.
  • Dashboard: Since the car is entirely digital, there is a steep learning curve when learning how to operate it and obtain information on the dashboard. I'm still learning. It's not bad after you learn, but getting there can be something of a pain. Probably no way to avoid this.

So much roomier than you think!

Great, fun drive. I can fit our family of 5 pretty comfortably. The high head room makes it great for my 6'2" husband and amazing leg room. Deceptively roomy. Love the SYNCH, bluetooth, handles wonderfully. Feels more luxury than I expected

Pros

  • Interior Space: Very roomy
  • Value: Definitely feels like more than I paid for
  • Ride and Handling: Great braking and handling.

Cons

  • Power: Hybrid, so power is good - but not great
  • Fuel Economy: I expected more. I average only 36mpg with careful driving
