I love my van. I upgraded from a E150 conversion van and am extremely happy. The van handles well and is smooth. There is pliantly of leg room on all rows. The bench seats are easily removed and I can do it myself. Average gas mileage for a van it's size. We had looked at many types of vans and came back to the Ford because of it's dependability. We have 3 children in car seats and two teens and everyone is comfortable and there is room for more.

Mine is the window version people-mover. First thing I did was remove the two rear benches and bolt in a 3/4' plywood cargo floor, which works out very well. It's a pig vis a vis fuel economy, averaging 10 mpg but I knew this going into it. It rides like a truck. Big surprise because that's basically what it is, a one-ton truck with a full-length roof. Hit a bump and you run the risk of vomiting a kidney unless the van is fully loaded. The driver's seat is comfortable enough; the controls are all easily accessible and the instruments dpon't require too much eye travel to see them all. The console looks like a iring nightmare now because I have my SatNav, my phone's power cord and my iPod all plugged in to the power points (god job Ford putting two of them on the panel, as well as an auxilliary audio input). Bluetooth would be nice but this is a van and not a Luxo-Jeep. The remaining passenger seat would be better if a) the back was adjustable/foldable and b) it could slide back and forth for extra legroom. The air conditioning is currently a major bone of contention. The blower works fine, but the cold air doesn't hit any part of the cabin for at least 15 minutes after starting the engine. This problem is of course most noticeable when the outside temperature is above 75 degrees. When it's finally running as it should, it's great, but I've sort of learned to expect cold air to start coming out of the vent almost immediately after you switch the A/C on. It warrants a trip to the Ford dealer as it is still under warranty. Quick summary: it meets my needs, but I look forward to the Econoline's replacement, the diesel-powered Transit.
