Description: Used 2012 Ford Escape Limited for sale - $15,998, 44,376 miles with
Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.427 reviews) Lackluster acceleration, moderate-to-poor gas mileage, poor transmission, and a few too many rattles in the passenger compartment. My mileage average over the last year has at best hit 24mpg even though it is rated 24-28mpg. I've never - EVER - hit 28mpg even on a long term flat highway drive to DC and back to Nashville. have also had problems with transmission since nearly day-one. Initially started as a recall, but even after having that fixed the jerkiness of the ride is sometimes uncomfortable.

Great little SUV "but" BAD Transmission!!

Everything about this car is a PRO I really loved it. However I bought it with only 28K miles and the transmission would shake the whole car while trying to shift. Mine was the Escspe Limited with the V6 and 6 speed automatic Transmission. After 3 visits to Ford because it was still under the factory power train warranty they basically told me that, that was just the way is was and nothing was wrong with it. I was very disappointed with Ford. I am a aircraft mechanic with over 12 years experience and the transmission was clearly faulty but Ford would not address the problem. I traded the escape in and bought a different vehicle. However this review is not intended to reflect poorly on CarMax. CarMax was great to deal with.

Love my escape

I like that it sits high off the ground, it has a lot of space between the two front seats and its good on gas. Best feature is the ABS system.
