About the 2018 Jeep Renegade

Vehicle Summary

Are you seeking an SUV small enough to slip into your assigned spot but has the attitude and capability to load up for a weekend on the trail? The 2018 Jeep Renegade blends a functional and flexible interior with the iconic good looks of the Jeep brand in a vehicle ready to zip to work or crush the ride out to the desert. You will recognize its round Jeep headlights and seven-slot grille. Inside, there is room for you and four friends or flip and fold the back seat to pack up for fun in its spacious cargo area. The turbocharged 1.4L engine delivers more muscle than you might expect while available four-wheel drive is plenty able to clamber up steep hills or scramble over graveled trails. Add a roof rack and bring along your skis or opt for the My Sky® removable roof panels for that open-air driving experience.

Generation Overview

The 2018 Jeep Renegade is the fourth production year of the first generation of this small SUV loaded with the capability associated with its brand name. Its shorter stature and wheelbase are the answer to the city-dwelling adventurer when your parking spot isn't that big, but you still want to be able to load up all your gear for weekend fun. Two engine packages deliver the muscle required for daily commutes and long drives into the country. The 1.4L MultiAir® four-cylinder engine produces 160 hp and is matched to a six-speed manual transmission. If you need a little extra oomph, check out the 2.4L turbocharged Tigershark® engine with its 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque paired to the nine-speed automatic transmission. Choose the type of road you are conquering using the Selec-Terrain® 4WD system that adjusts shift points and traction control for snow, sand, or mud. When properly equipped, you are even able to tow up to 2,000 pounds--enough to bring along an ATV or personal watercraft.2 Inside, the split rear seat and front passenger seat are able to fold forward, opening up 50.8 cubic feet for coolers, canopies, and backpacks.

There are six trim levels available designed to deliver a basic ride ready to get muddy up to leather-appointments and heated seats. The Sport comes with the 1.4L engine, manual transmission, air conditioning, cloth seats, and steel wheels. The Upland adds standard 4WD, Bluetooth® technology, and aluminum wheels. Find some creature comforts in the Latitude with its cruise control, steering wheel-mounted controls, leather-wrapped shifter, and a SiriusXM® radio.3 Polish your appearance in the Altitude with gloss-black wheels, grille, black on black premium cloth seats, and automatic climate control. The Limited delivers on premium amenities including fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, leather heated front seats and steering wheel, and available remote engine start.4 Pack up for the unpaved road in the Trailhawk with standard 4WD, skid plates, tow hooks, and daytime running lights.

Should you desire to expand the abilities of your ride, look for the available Uconnect® system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and navigation.3 Use your voice to access the hands-free phone, contacts, playlists, or to simply check the weather in your area.3
