2011 Mazda MX-5-MiataBadDad - Boiling Springs, SC10/30/2012
This is the second Miata I have bought from CARMAX Greenville, SC using the transfer procedure. Overall, I got the car I wanted and I am very happy with the car and CARMAX. I appreciate the Business concept, recommend you to friends and will use you again in the future.
The Car was appraised by Dulles inaccurately. There was paint damage on all sides, top and the paint on the lip of the trunk was scraped off almost all the way across the trunk. The damage was very noticable. In addition, the Dulles Center forgot to ship the Title with the car. Due to time constraints created by a long ship time, I was not going to be able to wait for the title to be shipped. Greenville Management got involved and found a way to consummate the deal. I appreciated their proactive professionalism.
On the other hand, CARMAX corporate should visit the Dulles Center and review procedures, guidelines and personnel qualifications. My car's condition was misrepresented by Dulles. A simple procedure to include the title almost lost a sale. Had this been my first purchase with CARMAX it would have been my last.
Greenville CARMAX, repaired the damage by buffing. In retrospect I should have either rejected the car or had it painted. The swirl marks from the buffing process are very noticable in sunlight.
I have warned friends to thoroughly inspect car, if they transfer, since CARMAX inspection procedures seem to be lacking.
All my friends love my new MX-5. The word used again and again is classy. Fun to drive, beautiful to look at, I'd definitely buy this car again! A bit difficult to get in and out for the bigger set...but still comfortable overall.
My wife and I are enjoying the convertible this summer. We call it our "toy car" and I drive it to work and back everyday. Plan on storing it in the winter and will drive the "Jeep". Plan on keeping the car for a long time. If you are thinking of buying one, DO IT. You will not be sorry. Enjoy!
Nothing compares to the feeling of the wind whipping your hair back as you cruise in a well-built convertible. Well, almost nothing—the feeling of getting a great deal on your vehicle purchase is definitely a close second. You can enjoy both of these awesome sensations at the same time by selecting a high-quality convertible that sells for less than $20,000.
