This car burns oil. I have had to replace about 1 quart of oil every 1-2 months since purchasing. After some digging, it turns out this year/make/model is notorious for this issue, yet there are not any recalls in place to fix the issue. I would recommend going with another year of this model to avoid the same issue.
This vehicle also does not get the fuel mileage that is stated in the vehicle details. I drive all highway miles and average 27 miles per gallon, not the stated 32.
Really are enjoying our Subaru Forester, the ride is smooth and powerful enough, the cab is comfortable. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars? The air conditioner is somewhat wimpy. However, this is west Texas where it was 97 yesterday...The air coming from the A/C is cold enough, but the fan is not very strong, even turned all the way up to high.
