2015 Hyundai Equus review

1. A feature-packed luxury sedan 

The 2015 Hyundai Equus is available in two trim levels — the base Signature model and the top-of-the-line Ultimate edition. Both vehicles are equipped with the same 5.0L powertrain, size dimensions, and most driver-assist features. The Ultimate Edition offers an innovative heads-up display, a multi-view camera system, and enriched comfort and entertainment features for rear-seat passengers. Both models provide automated cruise control, which intelligently cancels while approaching a vehicle from behind and resumes when the road ahead is clear.  

2. Power, speed, and control 

Equus ([EK] + [WUHS]) comes from the Greek word for mammals in the Equidae, or horse family. Like any fine thoroughbred, the Equus is powerful, goes from zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds, and provides a comfortable ride, even over rough terrain. The Equus also has a 20-gallon fuel tank, nearly 17 cu-ft of trunk space, and electronic air suspension with driver-selectable settings. Set the suspension for Normal (daily driving) or Sport (performance driving) modes to tailor it to your driving needs. The telescopic tilt steering wheel puts complete control in the palms of your hands and is heated for the winter months.  

3. Unique alternative luxury 

If you want a unique luxury sedan that doesn't fit the mold of other full-sized sedans, get behind the wheel of an Equus. Better yet, sit in the back seat of an Equus Ultimate, switch to Relax mode, and close the power sunshade. Luxury never felt so good. The 2015 Equus is available in five conservative paint colors, and its interior is appointed with sumptuous leather, suede, and wood accent finishes.  

4. Get out on the open road 

The 2015 Equus provides a comfortable, plush commuting experience in the city, yet it was engineered for highway and long-distance driving. Enjoy your favorite music on the Equus' premium Lexicon^® 7.1 Discrete surround-sound audio system with 17 speakers. If you find yourself on secluded back roads, switch to Sport mode for tight cornering, and an exceptionally smooth ride. The optional integrated Bluetooth® hands-free system allows you to join conference calls or talk to relatives and friends without needing to pull over to initiate the connection. The 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and cooled seats, and memory settings mean the Equus is meant for driving, not sitting idle in the garage. 

5. Loaded with driver-assist features 

The Equus is nearly seventeen feet long and has a 10-foot wheelbase. Driving this vehicle in inclement weather, navigating into and out of tight parking spots, and keeping track of cars around you might seem daunting but it doesn't have to be. Features like automated cruise control, optional parking sensors, lane departure alerts, and multiple forward- and rear-facing cameras help keep you up to speed on vehicles around you.
