Jeep rebooted the legendary Wagoneer nameplate for the 2022 model year, transforming the former two-row midsize SUV into a full-size three-row body-on-frame people hauler. The standard V8 was replaced with a turbocharged six-cylinder in 2024, but the Wagoneer remains available with four-wheel drive, and with its Ram truck underpinnings, the Wagoneer is a top choice for families who need to carry up to eight passengers and their gear. Beyond its raw capabilities, the Wagoneer is a spacious and comfortable family wagon with modern driver-assist and entertainment features. Note that the long-wheelbase Wagoneer L, the all-electric Wagoneer S, and the more luxurious Grand Wagoneer are covered separately from the standard Wagoneer.

Second generation Jeep Wagoneer

The Wagoneer was introduced in 2022 as an entirely new model, bearing the classic Wagoneer name last used in 1991. The new Wagoneer is a full-size SUV with three spacious rows of seating for up to eight passengers, built on the same frame as the Ram heavy-duty pickup truck. The Wagoneer initially came standard with a 5.7-liter V8 engine with a mild hybrid boost system, eight-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive. If equipped with four-wheel drive, it’s the same 4x4 system found on Ram trucks. In 2024, the standard engine became a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder.

The Wagoneer is notable as a comfortable family vehicle even in the most basic of its three trim levels. With reclining seats in the third row, a quiet cabin, and up-to-date infotainment, the Wagoneer is a comfortable people mover with enough room for luggage, camping gear, or similar adventure equipment. Additionally, the Wagoneer can tow up to 10,000 pounds when properly equipped.
