Feature-packed, comfortable sports sedan
Sometimes you just want to enjoy a solo drive, and the powerful new-for-2016 turbocharged engine and sharp steering of the Lexus IS 200t is enjoyable when you’re carving through the canyons. The IS 200t is the entry trim for the IS family of small sports sedans, but it’s still full of features and has a roomy and upscale interior.

5 reasons to buy the 2016 Lexus IS 200t
1. Sporty sedan style
The Lexus IS 200t is a sports sedan designed for the road or track. Equally rakish in the city parking lot, or trackside in the pit-lane, the IS 200t has a racy four-door silhouette. The front LED daytime running lights add some sharp style, and the bold grille adds to the aggressive stance. Choose the Redline or available Ultrasonic Blue paint colors if you want to make heads truly turn.
2. Power to please
The 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine of the 2016 Lexus IS 200t has 241 hp with 258 lb-ft of torque. Zero to 60 takes 6.9 seconds, and there’s plenty of power for fast overtakes on the highway, or a day at the track. The eight-speed automatic transmission has steering wheel-mounted paddle shifts so you can control the action, and though the engine is tuned for performance, it has technologies that improve gas mileage. An EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26 mpg combined for the IS 200t trim on 17-inch wheels is respectable given the pace on offer.
3. F Sport package
The IS 200t has lots of sporty appeal, but choose the available F Sport package if you want to kick it up a notch. Twin projector LED headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels spice up the exterior. Open the door to the upscale cabin, and you’ll spot the stainless steel door sills, aluminum pedals, black headliner, as well as the perforated leather-trimmed shift knob and steering wheel. The available accessory F Sport performance exhaust and air intake make it sound more aggressive.
4. Fun to drive
The IS 200t already is fun to drive when you’re by yourself. Crisp turn-in from the steering and a stiff chassis make the IS 200t an enjoyable car on twisty roads, and the sports car-like interior adds to the dynamic feel. More excitement comes from the Sport S driving mode that alters the engine and transmission for faster gear changes and snappier throttle mapping. A selection of driving modes lets you tailor the driving experience even further.
5. Feature-packed trim
If you want a feature-packed compact sports sedan, the 2016 Lexus IS 200t has lots of standard equipment. The sole IS 200t trim has a power sunroof, keyless entry and push-button start, dual-zone climate control, and power adjustable front seats. Onboard technology features include a seven-inch multimedia audio system with HD Radio®, USB, Bluetooth® connectivity. Additional technology, luxury, and driver-assist features are available separately, or as part of several optional packages.
