First generation Porsche Macan
When the Macan came to market in 2015, it was the second SUV from Porsche, following its larger sibling, the Cayenne. At the time, its 400-horsepower turbocharged V6 engine made it one of the most powerful and highest-performing crossover SUVs available. Like other models in the lineup, the Macan featured a quick-shifting Porsche PDK transmission, a sport-tuned suspension, and a torque-vectoring rear differential. It even had an air suspension that could increase ground clearance for off-road adventures. Additional trims and more powerful engines were added over the last ten years, including the 434-horsepower GTS, which is still available today.
In addition to delivering outstanding performance and handling, the Macan features a premium cabin with high-end materials and an intuitive infotainment system. Seats are comfortable with impressive support for dynamic driving; however, the Macan doesn’t have the rear-seat legroom or cargo space of some of its rivals.
In 2024, Porsche added an electric version of the Macan (covered separately), and after the 2026 model year, the gas-powered version will be discontinued.
