Purchase this Vehicle cause i wanted a nice family vehicle that wasn't a Mini Van. The Mdx has plenty of space to fit the family, but the trunk space is really cut to minimal when the 3rd row is up. The vehicle has great pick and fly on the highway giving great mileage on the highway. My only complaint about the ride is the down shifting is quite noticeable when reducing the speed.
Test drove everything but kept coming back to the MDX for it's 3 seat option, style, cabin. I had a 2001 MDX and got 212K without the best maintenance. These SUV's are ridiculous in the snow. In New England was snowed in at 4 feet of snow and plowed out of the garage like I was driving on the beach. Very comfortable ride, super stylish best looking truck on the market. Very well made can take long trips or just around town. Tech package is amazing. Kids love the DVD. Night driving is great perfect visibility for those darks roads. Expect to keep for at least 10 years. Wish it could last forever.
A Fancy Honda
2002 Acura MDXDanielmt - Austin12/04/2006
The MDX is a nicer looking and more rounded rebadged Honda Pilot. Historically the vehicles have high quality, low maintenance, are well equipped and probably worth the extra cost for snob-appeal. They just look better than the pilot and offer the same space. Of course, the more practical and less snooty buyer will go for the same vehicle, minus the Acura name and get the same vehicle for less money. I guess ultimately it is a matter of ones pocket book and ego.
The vehicles are decked out with leather, third row seat, high seating which allows you see far ahead in traffic, comfortable second and third row seating, though the third row is more kid-oriented. Cargo space with the 3rd row is severely limited in both the Pilot and the MDX but with the 3rd row folded flat, there is high headroom and ample cargo space.
This is a good deal with its good historical reliability and high resale and should be good for well over 100K miles.
