Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.333 reviews) I have the 2012 extended cab version. the front two seat are fairly roomy ( I am 6'2" and very large frame). The pickup is great for what I bought for - light duty DYI stuff. However, it is a bit underpowered and gets about 16 mpg in mixed driving/ around 20 hwy only. The mpg is very disappointing since other larger models do equal or better.

About the Chevrolet Colorado Work Truck

Vehicle Summary

A midsize pickup truck like the Chevrolet Colorado can be an excellent choice if you're seeking a versatile truck for work and play. And if you're not looking for anything extravagant, the Colorado's Work Truck trim can be a sensible option. Offered on first- and second-generation models, this trim is quite a step up from this truck's Base trim. Opting for the Work Truck trim over the Base trim allowed all kinds of options for add-on packages and engine upgrades. As you shop for used Work Truck models, don't be surprised to see a wide range of features and powertrain configurations.

No matter what model year Work Truck model you're looking at, though, one thing remains consistent. For starters, every Colorado Work Truck is available in both extended and Crew Cab sizes, so you can find used models with seating for four or even five people.

Ultimately, a used Chevrolet Colorado Work Truck is worth checking out if you're looking for a rugged yet decently appointed truck to tackle your everyday projects.

Chevrolet Colorado Work Truck Popular Features

As a step up from the Colorado's Base trim, the Work Truck trim has a lot more to offer in terms of standard features and available options. For example, the 2018 Work Truck could be equipped with two optional engines, as well as a six-speed automatic transmission instead of the standard manual transmission found on the Base trim.

On top of the Base trim's list of standard features, the 2018 Work Truck also adds fold-up rear jump seats on extended cab models, so you can accommodate a couple of extra passengers in a pinch. Cloth upholstery and carpeted floor mats also take place of the Base model's standard vinyl upholstery and floor coverings for a more comfortable cabin.

On the 2018 model, the Work Truck was also available with add-ons like keyless entry/ignition and cruise control. Chevrolet's EZ-Lift tailgate was also optional on this model, making it easier to open, close, and even remove the tailgate door when needed. As you shop used models, you may come across some of these features for yourself.

Carmax and the Truck are Great

The Colorado is very easy to drive in daily traffic and makes a good useful travel vehicle. Even though it has the short box I have been able to take along all the stuff we want when exploring either on a long trip or weekend adventure. The biggest plus is the gas mileage it provides, it beats the prior truck by 3 MPG! Plus the Chevy MyLink is an easy to use system once you learn how to interface with it's features.

I love this truck!!

I bought a nearly identical truck Sept/2008. I love this truck, great handling and exceleration. I swear I get better mileage then that posted. 2000 lbs towing is very good. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the hood seems kinda thin, and when its windy the hood shakes alot. All the accessories can be ordered mush cheaper at Farm & Fleet, all the top brands. Their is so much I can say about this truck. Its a very happy medium for me because it is durable, versatile and economical. I have no problem putting my son's car seat in the back. Again, as I said it sips gasoline like lawnmower at reasonable speeds.
