The 2016 Infiniti QX50 impresses with responsive handling, ample power, and a quiet, comfortable ride. Notable downsides include limited cargo and interior space, outdated technology, and subpar fuel economy. Ideal for drivers valuing performance and reliability over practicality and modern tech.
Infiniti builds a fine car. Typical Japanese quality, reliability, and styling. These QX50's are sometimes overlooked in the vast suv market. Dont let that stop you from checking these out. Having worked for Lexus for 10 years, I know the Infiniti vehicles very well. They are, Lexus' number one competitor. The QX 50 may not be the prettiest girl at the dance, but it makes up for it in other areas. The interior materials are beautiful. Wood, leather, nice quality buttons and dials. Nothing inside feels cheap. The acceleration is brisk, and it is very quiet. The amount of room in the back with the seats down is good for its class. This is not a Tahoe or Suburban. If thats what you want. Buy the QX80. Overall, very pleased.
Can't go wrong with a Japanese vehicle
Very quiet on the highway. Very little wind noise.
Bose stereo system sounds awesome.
Not the nest looking suv in this market segment.
My QX50 is fully loaded with the upgraded rims, lane departure, forward collision control, power rear fold seats and complete a complimentary off buttons and gadgets. The engine is very peppy and is rear wheel drive unless the car requires AWD. ( it can supply 50% of the available power to the front tires if needed) fun to drive! Style is nice but it does lack the aggressive look so my friends call it a sleeper, typical SUV but you wouldn’t know its power Just by looking at it. Also it is car height with normal “car” ground clearance. That’s why I describe it as a sleek wagon vs SUV. Car is very comfortable. Nav display and camera system is showing its age (resolution is lower than a new cars camera’s) but that said it is a 2016.
Fun 325hp motor
Large German Shepard fits perfectly in the back seat, plenty of Easy access cargo space
Tried and true power-train from Nissan
19mpg city
System is beginning to be outdated
Should’ve been more aggressive to match the engine
The car drives as a high-rated vehicle which it is. Quiet cabin, most important when on the highway for traveling.
Quiet ride, good handling
Easy to see out of all windows
Nissan product, should last a long time.
I prefer to get a higher gas mileage. It bothers me to drive a car with less than 30mpg
