The F-Type R is exactly what I was looking for. It’s a quick, agile car with huge potential. everything you read says that the infotainment is not as good as other luxury vehicles and that is 100% true. that is not why you buy this car, this car is meant to be driven and enjoy the exhaust notes. taking it through the canyons on the weekend is the highlight of my week. the F-Type truly brings a smile to my face every time the motor turns over. even a quick 15 minute drive to work will get you heart pounding.

Pros

Power: Stock the F-Type can hit license losing territory without any effort. Be careful with the gas pedal
Ride and Handling: I drive through the canyons in Colorado with 911’s of all types from Turbo S’s to GT3RS’s and I never feel like I’m lacking in the curves.

Cons

Technology and Entertainment: The infotainment system is subpar. No apple carplay, and navigation is bad. The hands free phone connection is too quiet to be effective.

If you're looking at an F-Type, it's more than likely because you want a refined little two-seater that does what you ask it to. This car delivers. Don't ask it to haul your golf clubs, or your hockey gear, or your over-sized suitcase. That's not what it's for. This car is for date night with your spouse; a long, back-road adventure to a neighboring town/state/province/whatever you Brits do. I would not take the F-Type on a multi-state, 2,000 mile journey; that's what Cadillacs and Lincolns are for. If you want a little sports car with the right balance of muscle and style, you'd have a tough time doing much better than the Jaguar F-Type.

Pros

Ride and Handling: The best of the British tradition of back-road cruisers.
Styling: Lines to die for.
Power: The supercharged six just pulls and pulls, seemingly without end.

Cons

Cost to Maintain: Oil changes require extra equipment, or extra money.
Technology and Entertainment: Maintaining the Bluetooth connection with your phone just sitting in the cup holder should NOT be this difficult.

I bought this car after renting one in Miami and falling in love with it. The F type R is the way to go. if you buy one of these cars, I highly suggest you get a maxcare warranty. I had my car for less than a month and the steering rack needs to be replaced. The second fix were the cats. All of that being done, the car is phenomenal and I can't go a single day without driving it. Best stock exhaust I've ever heard on a vehicle.

Pros

Power: Acceleration and power are as fast as my Tesla model X Performance
Styling: Absolute head turner
Weather Versatility: All wheel drive in a coupe

Cons

Braking: lots of brake dust because I didn't go carbon ceramic
Technology and Entertainment: would be perfect if it had Apple CarPlay
Cargo Space: not much cargo space
