Lots of power, but very clunkie. Switching from hybrid to electric comes with a big clunk in transmission. Been to the shop many times and honestly didn't know if it was going to blow up on the freeway. None of the Chrysler repairs help, just a poor design.
Technology for the hybrid system is sub par. Going back on lease this week. Couldn't charge the car because of battery issues and could start a fire in the garage. I would avoid this hybrid. Get the v6 if you like the Cherokee.
I get right at 20 miles per electric charge. A 220-volt charger can charge an empty battery in about 2 hours. Gas mileage range is about 415 miles on a full tank of gas. Gasoline fuel economy is about 22 mpg on highway and 18 mpg in town.
Even though it has just a 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, it can tow a full-sized loaded trailer (4000 LB load?) well. Acceleration is not great, but ok given that the electric and gasoline motors act together upon hard acceleration to get to highway speed easily.
Great and quiet ride. Especially when using electric only - you can barely hear the engine running. On the highway the ride is smooth and pretty quiet.
Very quiet ride on electric only. Engine noise is only a little more on the highway, but not disturbing or excessive.
Lots of room - especially with both rear seats folded down.
Lots of good info on the dashboard and radio monitor.
Electric economy is good, but not great. It is advertised at 25-26 miles on a full charge. actual; is 16-19 miles after about 1 year. In cold weather - under 40 degrees, electric is about 14-16 mile range. Gasoline mileage is fair for such a large vehicle. I got about 24 mpg at 75 mph.
I paid over $91,000.00 for the Summit Reserve in December, 2022. Cars were scarce then and I had to get whatever came in - no dealing on the price. I thought the total price was a lot for this vehicle. A better price point new would be about $70,000.00. However, by February, 2025 a used one with about 28,000 miles was about $45,000.00 - a much more reasonable deal.
Almost too many gadgets and electronics to deal with. Don't get me wrong, everything always worked like it was supposed to, it just took a while to get used to all the things this car's technology can do for the driver.
