FAQ
Q: Is the Jeep Wrangler Sahara a good off-road SUV?
A: Wrangler Sahara models do come equipped with the standard 4WD system that is more than able to take you off paved roads. However, if you are in for some serious rock crawling or mudding, you might want to check out the Rubicon trim with steel bumpers, tow hooks, and a beefier suspension.
Q: What is the difference between the Jeep Wrangler Sahara and the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara?
A: The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited are simply two and four-door versions of the iconic Sahara. For 2019, the Unlimited has a 118-inch wheelbase compared to the Wrangler standard 96.8-inch wheelbase.
Q: Does the Jeep Wrangler Sahara come with a soft or hard top?
A: The Sahara comes with the standard Sunrider removable soft top, but the available three-panel hard Freedom Top gives it a more traditional SUV appearance. Beginning in 2018, there is also an available Sky One-Touch power retracting top.
Q: Does the Jeep Wrangler Sahara have leather and/or heated seats?
A: You will find premium cloth seats in the 2018 Sahara, with optional leather available as part of a premium package. Heated front seats can be added as part of the Cold Weather Group.
Jeep Wrangler Sahara Popular Features
Fans of off-road fun have been taking their Jeep Wrangler into the wilderness since 1987. The last two iterations of this timeless SUV are the Wrangler JK that rolled off the factory floor from 2007 to 2017 and the Wrangler JL that made its much-anticipated debut in 2018. The Jeep Wrangler Sahara is available on both the JK and JL generation as a mid-level trim that focuses on technology and comfort upgrades most desired by commuters who also want to take their SUV out for four-wheel adventure on occasion. Performance for the 2015 model year is provided by the 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine and a six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission. It is four-wheel drive with selectable terrain modes is able to adjust for snow, pavement, sand, and mud. The two-door has room to seat four inside, while the four-door Unlimited expands capacity for five. You can even remove the doors, windshield, and roof on the Sahara for a true open-air experience.
The Jeep Wrangler Sahara features a wealth of premium upgrades beyond what is included in the Sport, but does not have all the off-road ready items found on the Rubicon. The 2018 Sahara boasts cruise control, a seven-inch color touchscreen, and Uconnect® infotainment system with hands-free calling via Bluetooth® technology. Dual-zone automatic climate control and a power driver's seat keeps you comfortable during your daily drive. A 115-volt power outlet is ready to keep you powered up while on the road and a Trail Rail® cargo management system helps you fasten your camping gear in the back. Front tow hooks, the rear swing gate, skid plates, and fog lights complete your ride.
Available packages include a driver assistance group that adds blind spot detection, rear park assist, and LED rear tail lamps. The Cold Weather Group provides a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and available remote start.1 There is also a towing package that enables you to bring along a trailer weighing up to 3,500 pounds when the vehicle is properly equipped.2
1Remote start functionality may require the purchase of a subscription plan and/or a compatible device like a smart phone. See the owner’s manual or manufacturer website for more information.
