On the other hand, even it equips with a turbo V8, when you are not pushing hard, it gives the average fuel economy 27-28 mpg. Once I made a freeway trip and stayed within 65-70 mph, I made 33mpg on average, which is same as the regular 4-cylinder cars. In terms of the comfort and craftsmanship, it is a Mercedes and it meets my requirements.

Beautiful Car, Expensive to Keep

This is no doubt a beautiful, powerful, graceful vehicle with great styling without being over the top. Maintenance is expensive. A battery replacement was $450. Keep that in mind when thinking about the overall price of the vehicle and purchase the extended warranty! I had a C230 before this and new what to expect, but it seems maintenance on the E550 is more often and pricier. I am disappointed with CarMax, though, and should have been a more diligent shopper. I've had the car less than a year and have needed a new battery, new tires, and new brakes. Not something you expect to replace with a "new car". There were also two small chips in the windshield that I hadn't noticed but had been treated. Dash rattles.

Great Car

Went to CarMax, Lax, test drove a few cars. Saw the E550 Benz, Test drove the car, the sales person checked my credit, I was told I could just drive the car off the lot, nothing down. Never been told that, I wanted the payments a little lower, gave them a $1000 took the car home, payments are comfortable, I am happy. Thank You Carmax, tell everyone this is the place to buy a car, Also the service department is awsome, I never go to the Benz, dealer for service..
