The power and torque are phenomenal. It's a drivers car. You can get a quick 0-60 in sport mode but where the diesel shines is on the highway. You can pull away from just about any car with ease. The Cayenne Diesel pulls with ease and the real worl fuel economy is better than advertised. I got 31.5 Mpg on a 288 mile road trip. Most importantly ! Porsche is giving away the CPO warranty 100,000K or 6yrs whichever comes first because of the diesel scandal. Yes giving it away just go and get your car serviced at the dealer so they can put you in the system. You'll get a letter from Porsche. I don't know how long that will last.
Very sporty, comfortable and decent gas mileage considering the type of vehicle. Extremely roomy inside, both front and back seats. The quality of the Cayenne is top of the line. The cost of maintenance seemed to be a common theme amongst the reviews of this vehicle, however, the car has performed very well in everyday driving and long-distance road trips. Happy owner!
I traded in my Mercedes ML430 for the Porsche Cayenne S. Where I live I need 4 wheel drive and plenty of power, hence the 8 cylinders.
PROS: This vehicle is very well made. The small details are covered and the workmanship shows at every point. I have Toyota Camry as well and it pales in comparison. The vehicle has plenty of power, you hit the gas and it goes, simple as that. You sit very high up and get a clean view of the road. The engine is a work of art. I am 6'4" and have plenty of headroom inside the vehicle. The gas tank is larger than expected. The front of the vehicle has a cover under the front bumper to protect the underside from rocks or other road issues.
CONS: The storage area in the trunk/boot is rather small compared to the Mercedes or most SUVs. Expect 12mpg around town and 15mpg on the freeways. You need to read the book to figure out the electronic locks.
