2024 Audi A3 review

What We Like 

• Drivability: The A3's small footprint makes it feel light and nimble whether you're out on a winding road or maneuvering through a parking lot. The steering is light and accurate despite not giving the driver much of a feel for the road. The brakes are also impressive and produced short panic stops at Edmunds' test facility.  

• Technology: Edmunds testers were impressed by the rich sound of the A3's available Bang & Olufsen audio system. Wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto™ is standard and a wireless charge pad is available. The navigation system has a clear map that can be displayed in the instrument cluster and makes turn-by-turn directions a breeze. The available head-up display can project navigation information onto the windshield. Additionally, the driver aids are easy to engage and work smoothly. 

• Comfort: The A3 has a comfortable and compliant ride, though it does lean more toward the firmer side of the comfort spectrum. You will feel road bumps and imperfections, but the ride is never harsh. The standard heated leather seats are supportive and comfortable in both rows, though the rear bench can feel a bit flat. 

 What Needs Improvement 

• Storage space: The fact that the A3 is one of the smallest vehicles in its class, is reflected in both its passenger space and cargo volume. The A3 has a slightly larger trunk (10.9 cubic feet) than the Genesis G70, but it offers several cubic feet less than the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe. Don't get too caught up on these figures, however, as the A3's trunk is pretty usable. It is tall enough not to skim the tops of grocery bags and deep enough to fit luggage into. Plus, the rear seats fold flat to open the space up further.
