The Bronco Sport, Ford’s compact off-road-ready SUV, gets some significant updates for the 2025 model year. After five years on the market, the baby Bronco receives fresh styling with new grille designs and updated wheel options. Both the digital driver’s display and the central infotainment screen are larger, and while the infotainment system has been upgraded to the latest SYNC® 4 technology, it hasn’t yet adopted the Google-based system found in other new Ford models. The Bronco Sport continues to be available with two turbocharged EcoBoost® engine options and standard four-wheel drive.

First generation Ford Bronco Sport

In 2021, off-road enthusiasts were delighted to hear that a new family of Ford Bronco vehicles was returning to the lineup after a 25-year hiatus. The first to arrive was the Ford Escape-based Bronco Sport, which brought rugged styling similar to its larger Bronco sibling. But the Bronco Sport wasn’t just a styling exercise—the compact SUV delivered impressive off-road capability, with some trims offering up to 8.8 inches of ground clearance, along with skid plates, off-road suspension tuning, and all-terrain tires. While the SUV was tough on the outside, its spacious cabin featured comfortable seating in the front and back, as well as an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display (upgraded to 13.2 inches in 2025) with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

Two turbocharged EcoBoost® engines were offered when the Bronco Sport launched in 2021, including a 250-horsepower variant, and these engines are still available on the current Bronco Sport. Four-wheel drive is standard, and the small SUV features multiple G.O.A.T. (which stands for "go over any type of terrain") modes to help it handle various off-road situations.
