Plenty of space for passengers and cargo
The EL is the extended-length body style of the Ford Expedition. The Expedition is already a large SUV, so the EL only adds more room for passengers and storage. The 2017 Ford Expedition EL can seat up to eight passengers depending on the configuration, in a cabin that's lined with nice materials and is fitted with several amenities making each ride as pleasant as possible. On top of that, it's powered by a strong engine that's able to deliver great performance and results in a high towing capacity, as well.

5 reasons to buy the 2017 Ford Expedition EL
1. Large, comfortable cabin
Since the Expedition EL is an extended version of the regular Ford Expedition, it's only natural to start talking about it by mentioning its enormous cabin first. The 2017 Ford Expedition EL is 15 inches longer and is offered in two configurations, one with capacity for eight passengers, and the other with seating for seven because of the optional second-row captain's chair. There are 41.1 inches of legroom in the front, with 39.1 inches in the back. The headroom for front passengers measures 39.5 inches, with backseat passengers getting 39.7 inches.
2. Enormous cargo area
The 2017 Ford Expedition EL has an expansive cargo area that resembles that of cargo vans. It has an 18.4-foot wheelbase and is 15 inches longer than the regular Ford Expedition, creating extra room for cargo that is bound to come in handy. Behind the third-row seats, it has 42.6 cu-ft of space, and with those seats folded down, you get 85.5 cu-ft. The total cargo volume measures an incredible 130.8 cu-ft behind the first row — plenty for your latest furniture store haul.
3. Potent engine
Under the hood, the 2017 Ford Expedition EL has a strong engine that enables it to be so versatile. It's powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine that produces 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, for a powertrain that delivers quick acceleration and allows the EL to do some heavy lifting. It goes from zero to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 140 mph.
4. Great towing capacity
The potent engine results in a high towing capacity, in addition to the commendable performance. With the 3.5L engine, the 2017 Ford Expedition EL can tow an estimated 9,200 lbs, when properly equipped.
This is sufficient capacity to tow things like large utility trailers, campers, a sailboat, or a ski boat, to name just a few.5. Standard tech features
There are plenty of tech features that come as standard on the 2017 Ford Expedition EL. A 4.2-inch display and Bluetooth® connectivity are just a couple of them, along with a USB port and a six-speaker audio system. It also comes with rear parking sensors, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and cruise control.
