The CR-V Hybrid takes Honda’s already practical and popular five-passenger SUV and gives it a significant boost in fuel economy. In a combined mix of city and highway driving, the new-for-2023 front-wheel-drive CR-V Hybrid returns an EPA-estimated 40 mpg combined. This drops to 37 mpg combined in all-wheel-drive format. Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates for when vehicle sold as new. Actual mileage will vary based on things like battery age, vehicle condition and history, driving and charging habits, accessory use, and driving conditions. Battery capacity may decrease with time and use. See fueleconomy.gov for more info.
These are impressive figures for a compact SUV, especially one with near class-leading amounts of passenger space and cargo volume. The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid gets nearly identical fuel mileage, though it’s worth noting it comes standard with all-wheel drive.
With its controlled ride and many active driver aids, the CR-V Hybrid is a comfortable and high-tech choice in the crowded and highly competitive SUV market.

Agile and comfortable: We know the CR-V Hybrid delivers impressive fuel economy. But it’s the nicely controlled suspension and responsive steering that make it such a relaxing means of getting from Point A to Point B. For long drives or laborious daily commutes, the CR-V Hybrid is a four-wheeled stress reliever.
Cargo volume: The rear liftgate opens wide to reveal one of the largest cargo areas available in a compact SUV. Behind the split-folding rear seatback, there’s 39.3 cu-ft of space. Fold the second row down and the space expands to more than 76 cu-ft.
Many standard driver aids: Every CR-V Hybrid comes with driver-assistance features like blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and more.
Engine and transmission drone: During highway passing maneuvers you might want to consider a pair of earplugs. That’s because the hybrid powertrain and continuously variable transmission emit a lot of noise when you go heavy on the accelerator pedal.
