The Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a compact SUV that competes with the hybrid versions of the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and the Ford Escape. It sits in between the smaller Kona and larger Santa Fe. The Tucson model has been around since 2005, but this redesigned 2022 model marked the debut of the hybrid variant.
The Tucson Hybrid's fuel economy will differ slightly based on the trim level you choose. The base Blue trim gets an EPA-estimated 38 mpg in mixed driving, while the SEL Convenience and Limited trims offer an estimated 37 mpg. Highlights of the Tucson Hybrid include a comfortable ride, roomy interior, smooth acceleration, and an excellent Bose® audio system. Notable items that may be an issue for some are the lack of physical buttons for climate and audio, a small center console, and lower fuel economy estimates than some competitors. Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates for when vehicle sold as new. Actual mileage will vary based on things like battery age, vehicle condition and history, driving and charging habits, accessory use, and driving conditions. Battery capacity may decrease with time and use. See fueleconomy.gov for more info.

5 reasons to buy the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid
1. Stunning exterior lighting
Undeniably grand in design, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid has unique style accents that set it apart from other small SUVs. The front fascia's broad grille reveals a cascade of daytime running lights and split-level headlights. The refreshed taillights feature an edge-to-edge lightbar, bookended by tilted corner bulbs. If you love modern styling, the Tucson Hybrid is a thrilling choice.
2. Useful connectivity
From accessing your favorite podcasts to following driving directions turn by turn, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid includes plenty of connected technology. Handy dual USB ports are standard for each row, so your passengers can plug their music into the six-speaker sound system and charge up on the move. Keeping you connected to the world around you, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone connectivity allows you to access your favorite app features via the Tucson Hybrid's navigation-enabled touchscreen.
3. Cabin comforts for everyone
Take a seat and settle in for the ride—the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is spacious and inviting. Standard rear privacy glass protects your passengers from outside eyes looking in and provides a little extra security when parked. Thanks to the 107.9 cu-ft of cabin volume, a full house of five passengers across the two rows still feels roomy. Supportive front and rear seats are generously appointed, with 41.1 inches and 41.3 inches of legroom, respectively. Heated front-row seats are standard, while rear-row guests can use the seat-recline function to stretch out on long journeys.
4. Generous storage
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid has loads of room for your stuff—so much so that the possibilities are endless. With a standard cargo capacity of 38.7 cu-ft, you can say yes to that family camping trip and carry all the essentials behind the second row. Why not take a best friends road trip this year, too? The Tucson Hybrid's rear seats fold down to reveal 74.5 cu-ft of storage space, meaning you can take your bikes, boards, or rollerblades along for the ride. Of course, it's in the everyday errands that you'll feel the most benefit; the low lift-over height and flat floor make box stacking and furniture moving easier to accomplish.
5. Excellent fuel economy
If you've got lots of daily chores to undertake or you're exploring new hobbies that require SUV chops, great performance and decent fuel economy figures matter. A hybrid powertrain can deliver both. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an onboard electric motor. Delivering 226 hp to a standard HTRAC® all-wheel-drive system, the base-level Blue trim achieves an EPA-estimated 38 mpg combined.
Real-life powertrain results like this mean one less thing to worry about, so just start your engine and enjoy your day.Shop with your budget in mind
