Hyundai Veloster N
The Hyundai Veloster N sporty hatchback offered a unique combination of style, attitude, and capability. It was also the first Hyundai to be offered in a high-performance N version. The Veloster already stood out as the only three-door hatchback on the market (one door on the driver’s side, two on the passenger side) before the N version drew further attention with its aggressive styling, dual exhaust outlets, and rear spoiler. The sport seats in front were comfortable and supportive; however, rear passengers would find the space somewhat cramped. Not only was the Veloster N quick thanks to its turbocharged engine, but its sport-tuned suspension, limited-slip differential, and performance tires made it fun to drive.

First generation Hyundai Veloster N
When the second-generation Hyundai Veloster arrived in showrooms for the 2019 model year, it was the first time an N model was offered for the U.S. market. The letter N is to Hyundai as M is to BMW or AMG is to Mercedes-Benz—it represents the brand’s highest-performance models. The Veloster N carried on the sporty hatchback’s unique three-door configuration—one large door on the left and two doors on the right—but it stood out from the rest of the lineup with aggressive aero styling, a rear spoiler, large dual exhaust outlets, and available 19-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires.
The Veloster N did more than just look sporty—it had the performance chops to back up the special styling. Under the hood was a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering up to 275 horsepower with the available Performance package (made standard in 2021). A six-speed manual gearbox was standard, with an available eight-speed dual-clutch transmission added in 2021. Adding to the overall performance were the available limited-slip differential and sport-tuned suspension.
