The Grand Wagoneer is a gilded version of the Wagoneer, both of which returned for the 2022 model year after last appearing in 1991. It seats up to eight in three rows and comes with rear- or four-wheel drive and standard or long-wheelbase body styles. It was launched with a 6.4-liter V8, but a high-output twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine debuted for 2023, eventually replacing the V8. For 2026, Jeep is lowering the output of the inline-six and adding a plug-in hybrid variant that it calls a REEV for range-extended electric vehicle.

Second generation Jeep Grand Wagoneer

After establishing itself as a roomy and capable SUV from 1963 to 1991, the Grand Wagoneer returned for 2022, this time without the wood paneling along the sides. The Wagoneer returned as well, though the Grand Wagoneer stands out as more luxurious.

The Grand Wagoneer’s powertrains have evolved over a short time. It was launched with a 6.4-liter V8, but a high-output twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine debuted for 2023 and replaced the V8 entirely for 2024. For 2026, Jeep switches to the lower-output version of the inline-six as the standard engine and adds a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) variant with even more power than the inline-six. It uses a 3.6-liter V6 as a generator and runs on electric power. A 92-kWh battery provides about 150 miles of range without the engine running and more than 500 miles with the aid of the engine.

For its first four model years, the Grand Wagoneer came only with four-wheel drive, but a rear-wheel-drive version is offered for 2026 to fill the role of the now-discontinued Wagoneer. With the inline-six, this beast can tow up to 10,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Inside, the Grand Wagoneer offers up to five screens, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the front passenger and dual 10.1-inch screens in the rear.
