The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a full-size luxury SUV with proper Jeep capability
The Grand Wagoneer returned to the Jeep lineup in 2022 after being discontinued almost 20 years earlier. The largest model Jeep has ever offered, the Grand Wagoneer boasts three rows of seating and impressive cargo capacity. For the 2023 model year, that capacity increases with the introduction of the extended-length Grand Wagoneer L. Extended length or not, the Grand Wagoneer is quite luxurious with premium materials and multiple display screens found throughout the cabin as well as a long list of standard features. Jeep offers the Grand Wagoneer in multiple trim levels, including the Series II, Series III, and the stylish Obsidian. Power comes from either a 471-horsepower V8 or a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine putting out a plentiful 510 horsepower. The Grand Wagoneer brings proper Jeep off-road capability, and four-wheel drive is standard across the board. There aren't many vehicles in this size and luxury bracket, but the Grand Wagoneer does have some stiff competition from the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

5 reasons to buy the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
What We Like
Performance: The Grand Wagoneer is no small machine, but it can move to 60 mph rather quickly with either engine under the hood. As a proper Jeep, the Grand Wagoneer is quite capable off-road with a terrain management system, Quadra-Drive® four-wheel-drive system, and a standard air suspension that provides 10 inches of ground clearance. There's also enough power to tow almost 10,000 pounds.
Interior: The Grand Wagoneer's cabin offers plenty of room with comfortable seating in all three rows with good legroom and headroom for all passengers. The front seats have multiple adjustments and can be heated, ventilated, or massaged, while the second row offers available heating and cooling for passengers. Multiple displays, including a screen for the front passenger and a rear entertainment system, give the big vehicle a high-tech vibe.
Storage: When a vehicle is as large as the Grand Wagoneer, it's no surprise that there's plenty of cargo space. There's 27.4 cubic feet of space behind the third row, and upgrading to the new L expands storage to 44.2 cubic feet. Volume more than doubles with the third row folded flat. Inside the cabin are several places to store smaller items.
What Needs Improvement
Fuel economy: The Grand Wagoneer is powerful and spacious, but this comes at the cost of fuel efficiency. According to the EPA, the big Jeep is estimated to get just 15 mpg combined with the V8 and a slightly better 17 mpg combined with the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine.
The extended-length Grand Wagoneer L splits the difference at 16 mpg combined, but it does have an estimated range of 488 miles thanks to its larger fuel tank.Shop with your budget in mind
