Frugal sedan
The 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid takes what worked from prior years and updates the style making it an attractive and well-rounded hybrid. Engineered to be the most frugal midsize sedan from Kia, the Optima’s updated styling for 2014 makes it a compelling option for style-conscious individuals looking for a practical five-seat sedan that won’t break the bank. The hybrid-exclusive front LED lighting sets the electrified models apart from the gas-only options in the lineup.

5 reasons to buy the 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid
1. Updated style
The big news for the 2014 Optima is the updated look. New for the 2014 model year are updated front and rear fascias. Kia's distinctive "Tiger Nose" grille is flanked by unique, hybrid-exclusive LED lighting up front. The design of the Optima is unlike many other midsize sedans which makes it the style-first choice among other midsize sedans.
2. Fuel-sipping powertrain
Carried over from the prior model year, the powertrain in the Kia Optima Hybrid offers frugality. The 199-hp gas-electric hybrid system powers the front wheels for balanced performance. Two trims offer two different wheel sizes which impact overall fuel economy. Base LX models get an EPA-estimated 40 mpg highway fuel economy with the 16-inch wheels, while EX trims sacrifice 1 mpg for larger 17-inch wheels.
3. Modern technology
The 2014 Optima may be a decade old, but it packs some modern amenities still sought after today. The keyless, push-button ignition brings the vehicle to life and powers up the standard 4.3-inch, or the optional eight-inch, color touchscreen infotainment screen. Available entertainment goodies include an eight-speaker Infinity® sound system with HD Radio and SiriusXM™ connectivity.
4. Interior luxuries
Making the interior even more upscale are the standard dual-zone climate controls. Options for the interior include heated and ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, and a panoramic glass sunroof. Much like the outside, the interior has an appealing, contemporary design that has aged well.
5. Calm, smooth, and quiet ride
Thanks in part to its hybrid powertrain, the ride on the Optima Hybrid is quiet. Available acoustic laminated glass also makes for a quieter cabin while cruising. Steering is not too heavy with a suspension that soaks up the bumps without being floaty like a boat. Combine this with thrifty performance and you’ll have a vehicle that coddles you while cruising long distances.
