First generation Lincoln Corsair
The Corsair plays an important role in the Lincoln lineup as the entry point to the brand in the competitive compact crossover class. It replaced the MKC, which was discontinued after the 2019 model year.
When it arrived for the 2020 model year, the Corsair offered a pair of turbocharged four-cylinder engines: a 2.0-liter and a more powerful 2.3-liter. The 2.3-liter was discontinued for the 2023 model year, but for 2021, Lincoln added a plug-in hybrid 2.5-liter four-cylinder teamed with a pair of electric motors for standard all-wheel drive. The 2.0-liter engine is available with front- or all-wheel drive. The plug-in hybrid uses a continuously variable automatic transmission, offers 33 miles of electric-only driving,
and gets 33 mpg combined thereafter. It’s only offered for the top trim level. The Corsair comes with a full suite of driver-assist features, and topping the list is the BlueCruise hands-free system that works on freeways and highways but requires drivers to monitor the road; it was originally called ActiveGlide.
